About the program

"English Connect " is a comprehensive program where people engage in conversations in both Hebrew and English. In the Hebrew chat, Arab-Israeli participants, program students, proficient Hebrew speakers, and our mentors have short phone conversations every week for three months. This helps everyone communicate better and build connections in Israel, fostering unity among people from different backgrounds.

Similarly, in the English chat, mentors and students converse in English. Recognizing the global importance of English, this program is directed at smaller Israeli communities, including minorities and the ultra-Orthodox. It provides them with an opportunity to improve their English skills, essential for career development and integration into the job market.

Program Characteristics

The program is designed for the Arab community in Israel, particularly for tech entrepreneurs and professionals, aiming to enhance their language skills in a relaxed and focused conversation environment. Volunteers commit to seven weekly meetings of 20 minutes each, offering flexibility in scheduling. It's an opportunity to practice and build language skills without specific topic constraints.

Connection through discussion, providing a clear solution to the social needs in peripheral communities in Israel, identified through conversations with representatives and individuals from these groups.
